Can I claim for osteopathy on my private health insurance?

Yes, many UK health insurance providers offer cover for osteopathy as part of their benefits. However, the level of coverage can vary depending on your specific plan. Typically, insurers require that you see a registered osteopath who is accredited by the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC). All West-Gate osteopaths are on the GOsC register.

Before booking your appointment, it’s advisable to check with your insurer to confirm whether osteopathic treatment is included, what documentation is needed, and if there are any limits on the number of sessions or referral requirements from a GP.

At least 1 of our osteopaths are registered 'providers' for the 3 major insurance companies at all times

The major UK healthcare insurers; Axa Health, Aviva and VitalityHealth recognise individual practitioners rather than the practice as a whole. Therefore, patients looking to claim through these insurance companies should book to be seen by West-Gate's recognised provider Mr Niall Walsh.

Most other private health insurers accept invoices from all GOsC registered osteopaths without the need to be a 'provider'.
