Feet in poor condition can affect your general health, put strain on the calf muscles, knees, hips and frequently cause back pain. Walking mechanics may also suffer resulting in general fatigue.

We very rarely give our feet a second thought unless we are feeling pain or discomfort. Unfortunately, this results in producing corns, blisters, ingrown toe nails, hard skin or some other painful condition. 


Keeping your feet in good shape will help keep the body fit and the mind alert. You are never too old or too young to start looking after your feet. Conditions that require treating are corns, calluses, verruca, blisters, athlete’s foot, thickened nails, ingrown nails, fungal infections and many other painful conditions.

suggest that patients with diabetes should have an annual foot check up as many of the symptoms of diabetes present in and around the lower leg and feet. Notes will be taken during each visit you attend at West-Gate and any changes in foot health since your last visit will be identified. Neglecting to have foot check ups, particularly as a diabetic can have severe consequences to your overall health.
